Crowdfunding is certainly the buzzword in investment circles these days, but what exactly is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is simply utilising the power of the crowd (or public) to raise investment for an idea, a project or a business. There are many types of crowdfunding that businesses use but one of the most popular and the type Harper Performance is launching is called ‘reward crowdfunding’.
Reward crowdfunding simply means people pledge specific amounts of money to the campaign and in return, they receive a particular reward, such as HP branded clothing, accessories or a specific means of recognition, like the opportunity to have a project named after them.
We’ll be announcing our full list of rewards in the new year so stay tuned!
To add an extra layer of excitement (or terror depending on how you look at it), to actually realise the investment and convert the pledges into funding, a campaign must receive pledges that total at least 100% of the target amount, in our case, that’s £30k.It’s a bit like Dragons Den, but instead of Peter Jones and co, YOU get to be the dragons. Though, you’re hopefully nicer.
